April is here, and so is spring, and while it is the season of rebirth and abundance, for anyone dealing with infertility it can also be a season of difficulty. As research continues into the causes and cures for infertility, we at Hanabusa IVF welcome April as the month that not only ushers in flowers in bloom, but marks the start of National Infertility Awareness Week (NAIW), a week of consciousness-raising and events to help support and inform the public about infertility. This year’s NAIW—April 22 through April 28—includes a slew of events and activities on both the national and local levels. Participants can exchange personal stories and so find support and learn about how others are dealing with and facing infertility. The Walk of Hope raises awareness and brings in important funds to help support research and advocacy efforts. You can also opt to host a local Walk of Hope or Awareness Event and the NAIW website has links to other resources such as a Toolkit for hosting an event. Infertility is a disease that affects millions and one that is often undetected until one starts to try and conceive. Please help spread the word and consider getting involved in the many important events of NAIW.
Be sure to pick up an Infertility Awareness pin at our office front desk. We look forward to helping spread the word about infertility.
