Dr. Peng, Psy.D. earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. He continued his education at California School of Professional Psychology earning a Master’s of Arts and Doctorate of Psychology focused on Clinical Psychology.
Serving as the Secretary of the San Diego Psychological Association and a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Dr. Peng has a great passion in providing and promoting the most up-to-date, researched, and ethical mental health treatment available.
Dr. Peng specializes in providing Psychological evaluations as well as long-term psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. His experience includes individual, couples, family, and group therapy; psychological testing and intake assessment; development of individual treatment plans; individual & group therapy to forensic populations with dual diagnoses; case management and crisis intervention to dually diagnosed and non-English-speaking Pan-Asian individuals; group therapy for Transitional Aged Youths (TAY); and behavioral interventions, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and play therapy, to children with autism.
As a first generation immigrant from China, Dr. Peng has gained a unique full spectrum perspective on the family dynamics, traditions and challenges faced by American, Pan-Asian, and multicultural families.
An “East meets West” approach is not only a professional ideology but a personal one as well. In his free time, Dr. Peng enjoys practicing meditation and yoga regularly, exploring new cuisines, experiencing cultures through travels from India to Mexico, and taking his adopted puppy out on adventures.
